Shell has announced that it won’t be continuing its exploration for oil in the Chukchi Sea, off Alaska’s coast. Check out our interactive map, above, for more on Shell’s troubled journey to this point.

Among other factors, the low oil price has put pressure on the firm to find a large quantity of oil – which they now admit they haven’t.
